Reiki is a form of energy work that aims to help reduce stress and promote relaxation and healing on all levels. With roots of Japanese origin, practitioners transmit ‘universal life energy’ [Reiki] through their hands to the client, who is laying down or sitting. Sessions last 60-90 minutes, and can be hands-on with light touch, or the practitioner applying hand positions just above the body. During a session, the client may experience various sensations — from changes in temperature, to a gentle glowing or tingling feeling.
